Why it matters

Laval’s commercial and industrial base

Laval isn’t one market. Three realities sit side by side, and they don’t pose the same ventilation problem.

Industrial zones off Autoroutes 440 and 15

Manufacturing, distribution centres, logistics. The real constraint is almost never capacity: it’s getting conditioned air to where people work, not just under the roof deck.

Carrefour Laval and Centre Laval corridors

Retail, services and restaurants. On the food side, kitchen exhaust is code-governed and checked at inspection: a hood sized to the cooking line, rated duct, and make-up air that balances room pressure.

Multi-tenant office buildings

Tenant comfort and operating cost come down to sizing and zoning. Work is coordinated with the property manager, and the quote has to stay readable for an owner or a board.

The system

What we install — and when it’s the right call

The Autoroute 13 corridor and newer sectors add new construction, where equipment placement is settled at design stage rather than after the fact.

✓ Rooftop units (RTUs): crane, curb adapter, connections, commissioning

✓ Kitchen exhaust hoods and make-up air, sized together — neither works alone

✓ Process exhaust and industrial ventilation, with the make-up air that goes with it

✓ Warehouse ventilation and sheet-metal duct networks designed for the building

✓ Permits and inspections, per the Quebec Construction Code and Ville de Laval procedures

Commercial ventilation

Commercial ventilation in Laval: the three calls we get

Laval owners and managers rarely call out of curiosity. Here’s what triggers the call.

Equipment at end of life

A rooftop unit past its service life fails at the worst moment. Replacing it on your schedule costs less than an emergency replacement on a Friday in July.

The building out of balance

Exhaust added over the years with no matching make-up air. The symptoms are always the same: doors that stick, draughts, bills that climb with no explanation.

A non-compliance notice

An inspector flags unrated duct, insufficient clearance or a badly placed discharge. What’s at stake isn’t the fine — it’s your occupancy permit.

Our process

From assessment to commissioning

Coordinated with your operations, permits and inspections included

01

Assessment

Site visit, survey of existing equipment, roof access and building constraints. We confirm what’s there before proposing anything.

02

Design and quote

Sizing, duct routing and equipment selection, then a detailed quote: scope of work, equipment, schedule.

03

Installation

Roof work, duct and unit installation, electrical and gas coordination. Scheduled around your operating hours.

04

Permits and inspections

We handle permit applications and schedule the required inspections as part of the project, under the Quebec Construction Code.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What Laval managers and owners ask us

How much does commercial HVAC installation cost in Laval?

The range is wide. Replacing a unit on an existing curb with few duct changes costs far less than a new install needing structural modifications. Price is set by the condition of the curb, crane access and the state of existing ductwork — not the unit model. We price after seeing the building, never over the phone.

What’s the lead time for a commercial ventilation project in Laval?

Mostly equipment availability. A standard rooftop unit typically arrives in two to four weeks; larger or specialised equipment takes longer. The installation itself is often a matter of days. When your operations are blocked, we prioritise scheduling as soon as equipment is available.

Can you install restaurant ventilation in Laval without closing?

Usually yes, by working outside service hours. Some steps — the final connection, a roof penetration — need a short closure that we plan with you in advance.

Do you handle permits with the Ville de Laval?

Yes. Permit applications and inspection scheduling are part of the project, under the Quebec Construction Code and the Ville de Laval’s administrative procedures.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

No. We install and document the system; routine maintenance goes to the service contractor of your choice. It’s what keeps us focused on installation quality instead of selling a contract on top.

Do you work on condo buildings?

On building systems and common areas, yes: common-area rooftop units, underground garage ventilation, mechanical rooms, make-up air for ground-floor commercial spaces. Work inside private units is outside our scope.

What’s the difference between “HVAC” and “commercial ventilation”?

HVAC covers heating, ventilation and air conditioning — the building’s whole climate system. Commercial ventilation is one part of it: fresh-air supply, exhaust, and the balance between them. A rooftop unit replacement is HVAC; installing a hood with its make-up air is commercial ventilation. We do both.

Do you do single-family residential?

No. We install in commercial, institutional and multi-unit buildings. For a house, a residential contractor is a better fit than us — and we’ll tell you so rather than take the job.
